Tim Burton, Cinématèque française, until August 5
"Films knock at the door of our dreams and our subconscious. Although this reality varies depending on the generation, films have a therapeutic impact - just like fairy tales used to have," says Time Burton, the producer and director of numerous eccentric Hollywood movies. Paris' Cinémathèque française is the only place in Europe that will be showcasing this retrospective of Burton's works, which was set up in cooperation with New York's MoMA in 2010. This showing is not only about Burton the film director, but also about Burton the writer, the artist, the photographer and illustrator. Along with the exhibition, viewers will be able to see all of Burton's movies, including several limited-distribution short films from the very beginning of Burton's creative career.
