Hasselblad Centre

The Hasselblad Centre was established in 1989 under the auspices of the Hasselblad Fund (the legacy left by the makers of the famous Hasselblad camera) as a way to promote the research and academic teaching of photography. The Centre is the site of the annual presentation of the Hasselblad Award, and a solo show of the winner's work is then held there the following autumn. Previous winners of the Hasselblad Award include such world-renown photographers as Nan Goldin, Cindy Sherman and Sebastian Degaldo. The Fund's programme treads a decidedly professional path of egalitarianism, organizing exhibitions that feature both international stars and emerging Scandinavian artists.
