Gauguin. Tate Modern, 30 September – 16 January
The forthcoming Gauguin show to be opened at Tate Modern in late September is hailed by the media as London's art event of the year, noting the fact that it is „the first important Gauguin exhibition in Britain for 50 years." „Be prepared for stunning impressionism, brilliant symbolism, inventive sculpture and pioneering ceramics."
Today, Paul Gauguin who died of syphilis in 1903 in the Island of Hiva Oa, unrecognised and forsaken, is one of the most vivid and most admired art icons ever. The London show features a number of the most brilliant examples of the great artist's legacy.
