Ambre

Street 178 is another area, dotted with small shops and charming art galleries. Although not measuring up to Street 240 style, it is still enchanting and full of flair. It features also small garage-type workshops where artists create and sell their works, all in the same place.
Ambre, at the very end of Street 178, is worth a special visit. Along with original furniture, home décor and fashion accessories, it offers creations of the famous Phnom Penh fashion designer Romyda Keth. Garments, exuding elegance and femininity. Born in Cambodia, she moved to Paris in her early years, and then studied at Paris School of Fine Arts. She still cooperation with French designers. By the way, jewelry, almost truly Cambodian in its style, created by another French designer, is available at Ambre, too.
Good cause for visiting Ambre is its location. A refurbished colonial mansion, built in the 30s, is an ideal venue for a boutique. Surrounded by a garden, it instantly enfolds you with warm coziness. There you will find also bags and ornaments created by the talented Thailand-born designer Miguel La Salle.
