Penta Hotel

If you want to experience the Prague of locals and hipsters (and not that of tourists), then plan on staying at Penta Hotel. Found in the trendy Karlin neighbourhood, it’s just a 20-minute walk from downtown Prague and everything you’d expect from a classic hotel not quite in the centre of the city. With a pool table, candles, dark leather sofas and wooden tables, the lobby’s bar is a favourite meeting place for locals. The rooms are simple in design, and substantially larger and price-friendlier than anything you’ll find closer to the city’s centre. In the morning, emerging from their rooms you’ll see families with children and dogs, hipsterish couples, and even a Louis Vuitton-purse-carrier or two. If this isn’t a winning sign of a good place to stay, than what is?
