The Soviet-era toy factory Polymer was closed in 1994. A few years later, a group of musicians turned it into their rehearsal place. Feeling intrigued by the huge space available, also other representatives of performing arts moved into the premises of the former factory.
Today, the spacious, 3000 m² area is daily filled with sounds of music coming from rehearsal rooms of music bands and there are two concert halls set up as well. Quieter corners are occupied by artists' studios, e.g., ceramics and avant-garde metal art sculpture workshops.
Culture Factory Polymer is an unconventional, multidisciplinary cultural center - a member of Trans Europe Halles, a European network of independent cultural centers.
Every year, Polymer organizes its very own Culture Factory Festival. During 2 weeks, artists of the house open their studios and a diverse program, comprising multitude of events - exhibitions, concerts, film screenings, dance performances, etc. is offered to viewers
Culture Factory Polymer is also a hot-spot and an epicenter of Tallinn's unconventional parties.
