The villa designed by Viljo Revell in the late 1950s houses the private art collection of Marie-Louise and Gunnar Didrichsen, mostly featuring Finnish 20th century art and also including works by Pablo Picasso, Wassily Kandinsky, Joan Miró, Fernand Léger, Henry Moore, Alberto Giacometti and Hans Arp. Alonside the permanent exhibition, the basement of the building displays Finland's only collection of American Pre-Columbian art - artefacts representing various Native American cultures, dating from 2000 BC to the 14th century - as well as a collection of Oriental art from China.
