Le Placide

Le Placide is a perfect choice if your trip is planned mostly for shopping. Set up in the 19th century private home, the small boutique hotel doesn't stand out with a dazzling décor, and its rooms, typically to Parisian hotels, are quite small. Yet the location, the Saint Germain des Prés area just opposite the famous Le Bon Marche department store, definitely makes up for it, and will spare the trouble of carrying heavy shopping bags way back to the hotel as well. Another charming detail - a tiny cheese shop favored by Catherine Deneuve is sited nearby, too.
Le Placide has only 11 rooms. Strange as it may seem, the best and the cheapest ones are on the top floor. A simple, laconic and functional minimalism, light and sunny palette of colors and a small balcony facing the street - just perfect to have breakfast or sip some champagne at the end of the day.
Rates from 270 euro.
