White night (Baltā nakts) cultural festival

Baltā nakts is part of the European White Nights cultural initiative usually held at the beginning of September. It is one of the most democratic and highly attended cultural events in Riga. The goal of Baltā nakts is to increase the public's interest in the various forms of expression seen in contemporary art. On this special night, a mix of generations, nationalities and social strata meet in the most divergent of venues found in Riga, such as the city centre, the suburbs, empty storefronts, abandoned warehouses, exhibition spaces and clubs.
