Autonomous islands of creativity are spread out all over the geography of Riga, and Sapņu fabrika (Dream Factory) is one of them. The building from 1911, which for many decades housed a glass factory, was reborn at the beginning of the 21st century, becoming the venue for a host of culture- and communications-related projects. Sapņu fabrika is also home to the interior design gallery Trentini, one of the conceptually most outstanding design shops in Riga, its interior being a fine example of symbiosis between an industrial space and contemporary design. Ligne Roset production forms the core of the gallery; such famous furniture brands as Moroso, Zanotta, Segis, and Edra are also represented and so are Artemide, Flos, and Foscarini lamps, Bisazza glass mosaics, Alessi accessories, Ruckstuhl natural fibre rugs, etc. The icing on the cake is provided by the end room, which has been turned over to the well-known kitchen design company Arclinea: should you still have doubts whether gastronomy qualifies as a true art, here they will dissipate in no time at all!
