Vilnius Contemporary Art Centre, the largest contemporary art space in the Baltic countries and one of the most significant institutions of contemporary art in the territory of the former Soviet Union, offers a wide range of international and Lithuanian contemporary art exhibitions, hosts conferences, lecture series, film screenings and concerts. Each year the Centre holds five to six large-scale and a number of smaller art events. CAC is also home to the Baltic Triennial of International Art. Over the last five years, CAC has mounted retrospectives and solo exhibition by many significant artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, featuring the likes of Georg Baselitz, Tony Cragg, Max Ernst, Man Ray, Bridget Riley, Andy Warhol, et al. The Art Centre has also commissioned a number of special projects from young internationally recognised artists. Offering the most spacious public space in Vilnius, the Centre often opens its door to events held by other institutions: the Vilnius Fashion Infection fashion festival, the Gaida Music Festival, the Vilnius Music Festival, the New Music Festival, the Serenos Theatre Festival, the Vilnius Animation Festival, the International Performing Arts Biennial and the Vilnius Wine Days.
