Trouw

A favoured spot among Amsterdam's night birds, Trouw is housed in a former printing warehouse, which once served such well-known Dutch newspapers as Trouw, Het Parool, NRC and Volkskrant. Hence, the name of one of these newspapers was chosen for the night club, restaurant and art space. As one would expect in a post-industrial décor, Trouw boasts a robust interior, in which the main material is concrete, with the odd printing element thrown in to remind visitors of the building's history. Initially, Trouw was meant to be a temporary trendy spot (until 2011), but now its lease on life has been extended until 2015. In accordance with the establishment's trendy status, the emphasis here is not on the food, but on the atmosphere - and in this regard, Trouw is a place well worth visiting.
