Golden Apple

Funny as it seems, it was only relatively recently that Moscow - the embodiment of practically every excess known to the civilisation, from outrageously expensive haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Armani, Prada etc.) to equally wallet-crippling haute cuisine - acquired its first boutique hotel. The name is worthy of the Russian capital: Golden Apple. There is no flashy sign above the entrance, just a beautiful glittering apple - worthy to be bitten into by a high-maintenance luxury-edition Snow-White - in a window which obviously is not size challenged. The design seamlessly blends the historical (the façade) and the modern (the interior), using exclusively natural materials, mostly wood and marble. Designer furniture and Slav motifs on the curtains - so that you wouldn't forget where you are staying...Admittedly, the rooms are on the small side and the feel is not particularly warm and cosy.
