Mamaison

Opened in 2007, the Mamaison All-Suites Spa Hotel Pokrovka belongs to the well-known French MaMaison brand and the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection. Sited in the north central part of Moscow, it has attracted anothertravelguide.com attention mostly with its reasonable price-quality relationship - 155 euros accommodation in the very centre is quite a bargain, especially for Moscow. Yet typically to this city, the designers have somewhat overdone in their efforts to impress. Especially it refers to the lobby, boasting a pretentious piano-like table and soft seats with yellow and crimson cushions, and a fragment of the wall adorned with black & white photos made in Moscow back in the eighties. Although the interior presents lots of respected top-ranked design brands, it feels rather laborious and overdecorated. In spite of that, apartments feature nice and tasteful modernisms, starting from big and comfortable beds to bathrooms made in natural stone. The décor seems bringing back the lightness of the 1930s-style and a pastel palette of the 1950s.Mamaison Hotel's restaurant is decorated in art deco style by St Petersburg designer Anton Gorlanov.
The hotel offers superb spa and a fitness studio, excellent breakfast and, what is more, pampers its guests with warm and friendly service.
