St Petersburg Terraces

Author: Anothertravelguide.com0 COMMENTS

Enjoy a glass of wine on one of the St Petersburg terraces. The most popular of them is Terrassa, a restaurant on the rooftop of a luxury shopping centre with a fabulous view of the nearby Kazan Cathedral. An almost 360 degree panorama, incredible in its scope, unfolds at your feet at the rooftop bar of the Kempinski hotel. Deejay-provided music, evidently not meant for dancing, makes a nice background for relaxed after dinner conversation. Although prices are high, especially for wine and champagne, it is still a spot to savor at least once. (Bar opened until 3am.) You could also try the 6th floor of the Renaissance St Petersburg Baltic Hotel: Saint Isaac's Cathedral will be just a stone's throw away. On cool autumn days one of the most romantic oases in the city is the Bellini restaurant on Universitetskaya Naberezhnaya, not far from the Academy of Arts: a small balcony instead of a terrace, the huge windows offer a view of the Neva River and the dome of Saint Isaac's Cathedral tinted by the shadows of clouds. Tastefully laconic decor, a fireplace crackling away in colder weather... Just make sure you don't miss the moment when the bridges are lifted...
