Abac Restaurant

Abac undeniably is one of the best Barcelona's restaurants, boasting of two Michelin stars and its chef Xavier Pellicer (ABaC Restaurant awarded with 2** by Michelin Guide 2012, Spanish edition). Initially opened in stylish Rec Street in year 2000, it has moved to a new address this year, and now is located at Mount Tibidabo. Its new address and an elegant pale beige palette of its décor definitely is another step towards luxury and refinement. Every detail is perfectly thought out - starting from little table hooks for ladies purses and black & white Versace crockery to its state-of-the-art cuisine with fine gastronomic qualities and style of presentation. The restaurant features several rooms - you can choose a table by a garden view window or a more intimate one, away from inquisitive glances. A meal there is a true fiesta with an impeccable, yet unobtrusive service. Be careful not to overdo with ordering - a chef loves to treat his guests with amus- bouche of sumptuous size. By the way, a special amus- bouche arrives also before a desert...Art on a plate, rich in colors and textures, is worth a special description though. Imagine salad, decorated with fresh flowers, or layers of mushrooms, avocado and crab meat with bright green basil ice cream. Bamboo steamed foie-gras, wrapped in green leaves, served with slightly fried pears and ginger and a delicious chicken broth. Abac is a pride of Barcelona, much favored by both local and foreign gourmets, and definitely worth a visit - at least once.
