Fishing has always been the chief occupation of Kep people, and nothing has changed. The local restaurants are the right place to savor plentiful and delicious fresh, fish, shrimps, squid and other seafood. The coastline is dotted with small restaurants, featuring terraces, hiding under thatched roofs. Just chose whichever you like and go straight in!
There is no reason whatsoever to question freshness of a meal. Small wicker baskets with crabs stay immersed in the water. When one clawy creature is chosen for your dinner, the others instantly are put back under water. A vast choice of fresh fruit is on their offer, too.
Visiting a renowned "pepper land", you shouldn't miss a chance of tasting a town's specialty - squid with pepper sauce. Yummy! Just be sure to spare your stomach by ordering some rice with it.
