Vadodara, Gujarat

Author: Ivonna Veiherte

Vadodara, formerly known as Baroda, while not a wildly popular touristic destination, is home of the famous faculty of arts of Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and the renowned Laxmi Vilas Palace. It's also a hometown of the internationally acclaimed Indian architect Karan Grover, a pioneer of green building. Outside Vadodara, there are artists' residencies and a sculpture garden, designed by Grover as well.
There are no art galleries Vadodara, yet the "Space Studio", set up in former factory premises, provides working facilities and a gallery space for many artists every year.
