Dedeman Silk Road, Tashkent

Find the cheapest flight

Dedeman Silk Road, owned by a Turkish hotel chain, is one of the most reasonable choices of accommodation if you don't feel like staying at any of the state-owned monsters. The traditional, impersonal and, at the same time, pleasantly safe-feeling rooms definitely meet the European standards. They are practically devoid of any local influences; on the up side - on the plus side, Wi-Fi internet connection is available. It has to be said, though - if you happen to be visiting around the time when summer is giving way to autumn, don't be surprised to find that the air conditioner has now become a heater and rooms on the sunny side of the building could practically double as sauna facilities. The staff will politely explain that the winter season has started... The minibar prices are also quite close to European levels, and, should you decide to sample some local wine at the hotel bar, it will set you back five or six times the amount you would pay at any other restaurant in the city: you will be asked to pay 25 000 soms instead of the usual 8000 or 9000, and that's daylight robbery! The good thing is - you can always haggle over the room rates...
