Lodging sited on the scenic shores of the West Lake, in the north of Hanoi. It's the largest lake in the city, totaling of over 500 ha of surface area while the road, leading around it, stretches for 17 km. Opened in 2007, 359-guest rooms hotel is the first representative of the renowned British group, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, in Vietnam. Set on the very waterfront, it gives an illusion of floating on the water. Untypically to Hanoi, rooms are large and spacious (the smallest=43m²), each one with a private balcony. Filled with languidly relaxed ambiance, they fuse contemporary Vietnamese design with classic Asian touches. The Sunset Bar is just fabulous with its stunning panorama and water splashing almost at your feet, making you melt in its soothingly relaxed atmosphere. This might not be the right spot to stay, however, if your Hanoi visit lasts just a couple of days. Lovely and impeccably designed, it is light-years away from the authentic taste of Hanoi. Still wishing to sense it, you will have to take a taxi, as there is almost nothing within a walking distance from the hotel. A room, viewing the city, is not the best choice either, as not the most flattering panorama of Hanoi opens up from its balcony.
