Take Your Time: Olafur Eliasson. The Museum of Contemporary Art, 10 December – 11 April 2010, Sydney

The first Australian show by the world-renowned Danish/Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson traces the stages of his artistic career from 1993 until the present day. The exhibition, featuring works borrowed from prestigious international art depositories and well-known private collections, comprises installations, environmental art, photographs and sculptures.
Eliasson's connection with Iceland is the reason why his art contains quite as many references to elements of this country's landscape and nature. Eliasson's works often use and decipher natural phenomena like light, water, ice, fog, lava rocks, etc., creating a space which provides the viewer immersed in it with an almost physical sensation of the characteristics of the place.
