The historical building that has been home to the Museum of Modern Architecture since the early noughties was designed as the central lodge of Belgian freemasonry. As the original planning and décor have been retained, a visit to the place might also be interesting as an insight into the design of freemason headquarters. The museum is a tribute to the most prominent representatives of the Belgian 20th-century Modernist architecture, the founders of the so-called 'archives of modern architecture', namely: Fernand Bodson, Antoine Pompe, Louis Herman De Koninck, Victor Bourgeois and Renaat Braem. A separate room is dedicated to each one's career and contribution to the development of Modernist architecture.
