Excellent coffee and an even better apple strudel! Not to mention the view: Lvxor is definitely the most charming café in Split. It owes its name to the gem of the ancient Egypt, the beautiful city of Luxor. The café is located in the middle of the palace square; do choose a table with a view of the black sphinx. It was brought here in AD 305 by Emperor Diocletian; Egyptian influence is also echoed in the architecture of the palace built on the Emperor's orders. The uniqueness of the palace lies in the numerous layers left behind by its various owners in the course of centuries. Look up while sipping your coffee: for a short moment you will lose all sense of time and space - and sight of the inevitable tourist throngs that fill the palace square around midday. Another very respectable merit of Lvxor Café: free Wi-Fi.
