Globe Hope is a Finnish innovative design company that makes unique ecological items out of recycled materials. Its stores, selling clothes and accessories are available throughout Finland and beyond its borders now. Globe Hope bags, purses, clothes and accessories are made of both used and unused army textiles and a variety of other materials, such as workers uniforms, seatbelts, flags and banners, parachute and tent material as well as vintage home textiles, like curtains, tablecloths and bedspreads. Things made of these materials possess great durability and are almost immune to wear and tear, at the same time featuring certain stylistic roughness and revealing their initial historic context through original prints, fittings and other elements.
Globe Hope production units operate throughout Finland and Estonia, while its products are available in fifteen countries across the world. Seija Lukkala, the founder of Globe Hope, is convinced that there is an abundance of materials available in the world, making it pointless to produce any new ones. A peculiar comeback quality distinguishes Seija Lukkala creations - all of these things have already existed, just in a different time and with a different purpose. Both Lukkala's home and Globe Hope production and administration center in an old Nummela village factory building are arranged according to the best attic and flee market standards. Similar to Nummela factory with its stacks of mint color ply wooden pallets, originally used at the old Nokia gumboot factory, are all the other Globe Hope stores - newly established, yet old.
