Secco, Helsinki

Author: Anothertravelguide.com

Lasting and environmentally friendly design is a field that was cultivated in Finland long before it became one of the most distinctive trends and marketable categories of our age. Although Secco, a small shop of clothing, design objects and accessories from recycled materials in the Design District of Helsinki, has existed for several years, its owners admit that lately its popularity has considerably grown. Its motto is Treasures of Wasteland, and all shop furniture is likewise made of things others have discarded as useless. Secco offers its own brand name collection alongside "green design" items from all corners of the world. Bowls and bracelets made of old vinyl LPs, belts made of airplane safety belts, eco-cards, bags fashioned out of car tyre inner tubes, etc.

We are passionate about travelling. It’s a great way to challenge and provoke yourself, and an even better way to see, feel, discover, enjoy and taste. Travelling provides a unique frame for your emotions and the sensations, flavours and pleasures you encounter. It’s impossible to keep them to yourself, and probably the best investment you will ever make. That is why we have created anothertravelguide.com. We share the value of our travel experiences and discoveries with our friends, so, if you share our passion, please join us!
