WDC Helsinki 2012 Pavilion, May 12 – September 16, 2012, Helsinki

One of the year's most significant design projects, WDC Helsinki 2012 Pavilion, has just opened its doors. It is the very heart of the World Design Capital and also its central meeting place. Created in a shape of a wooden module, this multifunctional pavilion has been designed by students from the Aalto University Wood Studio while its unique wooden constructions have been provided by UPM - a Finnish timber manufacturer, famous for its innovative solutions.
According to the program developed by the Museum of Finnish Architecture, the Design Museum and Alto University, the pavilion will be opened 6 days a week until September 16th. "Our Pavilion is your Pavilion!" is its motto and it goes together well with Finnish democracy of design. Moreover, all events there are free of charge! The pavilion invites its visitors to participate - to savor urban culture, design and architecture, to enjoy food and listen in summer sounds of nature, to dance, to debate and to be happy. Learn more about its schedule of events on the pavilion's website: wdchelsinki2012.fi/en/pavilion
