Pelléas et Mélisande, editor, scenographer and light artist – Robert Wilson, Opéra Bastille, February 7-28, 2015
A genius avant-garde theatre artist, minimalist and “maximalist” in one, the American Robert Wilson is one of those directors who, instead of creating a new world for every production, inserts the production into his own world. For forty years now, this “world” has been known as the Universe of Robert Wilson, and it is impossible to copy. It is a unique world of light and magic through which a person can be transported, and it is definitely worth entering it at least once. The Paris Opera is producing Claude Debussy's impressionistic masterpiece, “Pelléas et Mélisande”, together with the Salzburg Festival; the role of Pelléas will be played by Stéphane Degout, and Mélisande will be played by Elena Tsallagova.
