Shemoikhede Genatsvale, Tbilisi

Author: Elita Gavele

By far the best place for a larger company to enjoy a meal of the traditional khinkali- fast, incredibly delicious and quite cheap! It's best to make up your mind in advance as to which of these large dumplings you would love to sample: the ones with meat or those with meat and herb filling - or perhaps the vegetarian version made with potatoes... The local adepts of khnikali-eating are, of course, quite capable of polishing off a helping of ten or more. Should the dumplings get cold on your plate as a result of a lengthy and captivating conversation, the staff will see to it that they are whisked away only to be brought back freshly pan-fried and piping hot.
The Shemoikhede Genatsvale menu also features a lovely tomato, cucumber and onion salad and - at all times - moreish soups.
The spacious Shemoikhede Genatsvale dining hall with its stone floor, simple wooden tables and chairs, a few balconies embellished with woodcarvings, laconic image and down-to-earth service can accommodate a huge number of guests, so there is no need to worry about booking a table. Shemoikhede Genatsvale also serves take-away food.
