A bar/restaurant Cantina is a current hotspot of the city, attracting stylish crowd of Berliners and hiding beneath the pedestrian bridge, leading from the railway station Bahnhof Friedrichstraße across the nearby river.
To find it, you have to walk along Shiffbauerdamm riverside and search for a black, inconspicuous door with a small window, making an entrance into a scruffy under-the-bridge building.
Due to its located under the railway, Cantina has no windows at all. Not a tiny ray of natural light is allowed there, making the black walled space seem even darker. Cantina lounge features a long room designed in asphalt gray and pitch-black palette of colors. A bar stretches along the entire its length and vibrating techno and ambient music fills the space. A split in the long bar counter makes an entrance into the dining hall.
It's not a place where one would stumble in be chance, yet securing a table in advance is highly advisable. Cantina offers delicious, fine quality Asian, Latin American and Iberian cuisine and boasts outstanding cocktails and wines. The restaurant is much favored by artists of various fields as well as people from media and business circles.
It has to be mentioned that dining at Cantina doesn't come cheap, however - starters cost from 12 EUR, main course - from 24 EUR.
