Kranz presents quite a contrast to the glamorous restaurants in Munich's city centre, whose posh interiors are frequented by well-to-do patrons. Kranz embodies the creative and accessible (read: affordable) side of Munich, which is becoming more and more visible on the face of the cityscape. This cosy and fashionable eatery is located in the lively Glockenbach district.
Furnished with simple wooden tables and chairs, everything here is relaxed and unpretentious. During the summer season, the glass doors are left open and tables are placed right outside on the sidewalk. The service is excellent and so is the food, which is much less expensive than at other eating establishments in Munich.
All of the dishes are prepared exclusively from locally grown produce, which is 100% organic and seasonal, in accordance with the Slow Food philosophy. Beyond the restaurant premises is another room with a small stage, where movie screenings and theatre performances are held on special occasions.
