Schuh Bertl is not your typical shoe store - disregarding the global invasion of mass-produced brands, the ancient art of cobbling is kept up here. Most of the shoes you will find in the shop are handmade and made from a single piece of leather. Prices range from 200 to 800 euro. You can order a pair custom made, too... but you may have to wait for a year to receive the prized shoes. When I dropped in, one of the regular clients was debating the details of her next pair. The place looked like a shoe cave, with shoes everywhere - not only on the shelves but even hanging from the ceiling.
