Dió serves a mixture of traditional and modern Hungarian cooking. By no means could it be described as inexpensive: an average meal for two (wine inclusive) costs around EUR 150. It has to be said, though, that the place aims at perfection in everything: the food, the service and the decor alike. Light, straight lines alternate with traditional woodcarvings; opulent Venetian glass chandeliers co-exist with waiters dressed from head to toe in black. While the colour scheme is dominated by dark brown and warm tones, the usual cramped space of a traditional French bistro is replaced here by ultimate airiness. In any case, the atmosphere is genuinely cosy, particularly in the summer, on the large open-air terrace.
