A great place for dinner if you've spent the day on the Buda side of the city and are in the mood for something different. The basic concept is traditional Hungarian food that has been updated to the 21st century. Only those who have had lunch in a classic Hungarian restaurant can really appreciate the genius of this establishment. Traditional Hungarian cuisine is, as most everyone knows - incredibly tasty, with large and filling portions. Restaurant 21 is a sort of gastronomic laboratory, where well-entrenched culinary habits are discarded and only the essential is kept. The result is modern Hungarian cuisine, based on historical tradition and ingredients (such as goose liver, pike, duck, etc.) but made in a light and contemporary manner. There is also an openness to various world cuisine influences, which nowadays are an integral part of gastronomic culture. The menu is seasonal, while the wine list is comprised solely of the best Hungarian wines. By the way, the house wine is excellent. The service is very personal and do not be surprised if the host addresses you by your first name. A large outdoor terrace beckons on warmer days and evenings.
