The museum is devoted to the world-famous Hungarian composer Béla Bartók (1881-1945). It's set in an art nouveau style building, which has served as Bartók family home from 1932 to 1940, being the composer's final residence in Budapest. The museum was opened to commemorate Bartók's 100th birthday in 1981. It was successfully refurbish during the time between two wars and now boasts both an amazing décor and ambiance, too, frequently serving as a concert venue.
