Arts & Foods. Rituals Since 1851, Triennale di Milano, through 1 November, 2015
“Art is food for the soul”, says American artist and writer Catherine Jo Morgan. One often hears phrases such as “food as art”, and “the savouring of art and food”; as it turns out, food and art are more closely related than previously thought. Accenting the theme of the 2015 World Expo – Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, the Triennale di Milano cultural institution is also holding a special exhibition in its building. Titled “Arts & Foods. Rituals Since 1851”, it encompasses almost all mediums of visual art in its portrayal of the relationships between the arts and food throughout the years. Featured are works of classic modernism and pop art, as well as pieces by contemporary artists.
