Brassaï. Pour l’amour de Paris, Palazzo Morando, through 28 June, 2015

Hungarian by birth, the famous photographer, film director and writer Gyula Halász (1899-1984) – known to the world under the pseudonym Brassaï – arrived in Paris in 1924. He fell in love with the city at once, as can be seen in the approximately 260 original photographs selected for exhibition at the Palazzo Morando. You will be enthralled by scenes of the Paris night life, intrigued by intimate views of the vibrant intellectual- and art-scenes of 1930s Montparnasse, and disconcerted by shots of daily life in the city's most impoverished neighbourhoods. Because of Brassaï, the legend of Paris is still alive today.
