This is the first exhibition dedicated to 'moving pictures' ever hosted by the François Pinault Foundation that currently runs two excellent exhibition spaces in Venice: Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana. 'Voices of Images', opening simultaneously with the Venice International Film Festival in the atrium and second floor of Palazzo Grassi, will comprise 30 pieces by 25 artists, representing the genres of film, video and installation art. The featured artwork will include the 2010 'For Beginners' by the iconic star of 20th-century contemporary art Bruce Neumann, purchased by the Pinault Foundation in 2010. This will be the first time that the work goes on view in Europe. Alongside Neumann, the list of represented artists includes the likes of Shirin Neshat, Bill Viola, Mark Wallinger, Anri Sala, et al. The curator of the show Caroline Bourgeois has previously mounted a number of exhibitions for the Pinault Foundation.
