Zattere Boardwalk, extending opposite Giudecca Island, is a great place for a lovely walk on a warm and sunny day, and is much favored by locals as well. Francois Pinault's contemporary art museum, Punta della Dogana, housed in a former maritime customs building, is sited at one end of Giudecca Canal promenade (cobbled already in 1519!), while the legendary Venice ices cream café, Da Nico, opened way back in 1937, is closer to the other end. In summer time, it features a vast wooden terrace at the very edge of water. Aside from its delicious ice-creams, gelateria is famous for its amazing panoramic view of Giudecca Island.
