Pauls Stradiņš Museum for History of Medicine

This museum in Riga, Latvia comprises roomfuls of historical medical equipment as well as preserved body parts and evidence of anatomical experiments on dogs. If you ever wonder where the inspiration for the horror film 'The Human Centipede' came from, you should visit the place and see the stuffed 'double dog' on display here. There is also a fascinating room on the top floor featuring a video of dogs being launched into space to orbit earth as well as the actual things and objects that were needed to make journeys like this possible. As a huge dog lover, I found this bit very sad albeit extremely interesting. The museum provides you with lots of interesting reading material, and you will leave the museum feeling educated and absorbed in thought.
