Having played in many golf courses all over the world, I have to admit that Ozo Golf Course in Riga certainly deserves to be named among the best ones. Impressions of the last summer in particular gave me this confidence. It is the first 18-hole golf course in Latvia and most of the Latvian golfers have polished their skills there. Although, being a very new golf course opened just in spring 2002, it has managed to draw attention of North European professionals. Baltic Open championship, annually taking place there, is always well attended. Already in 2004 Ozo Golf Course was named among 365 golf courses around the world suggested by The New York Times golf reviewer Robert Sidorsky. American designer Rob Svedberg has managed to make a good use of the natural shoreline of Lake Ķišezers in this project. Some holes, located close to the water, are quite challenging, especially in a windy weather. The golf course is perfectly groomed and constantly improved. Tee-times can be booked quite easily.
