It's hardly likely that Gallery Park Hotel gourmet restaurant Renomme, exuding Napoleon's era luxury and refinement, will cross your mind when craving something simple and substantial, like Latvian traditional sauerkraut soup from a plain, authentic dish. Moreover, eaten not with a silver spoon but a simple, wooden one! Yet unexpected surprises do occur, and it refers also to the world of gastronomy. The Renomme new menu is based on enduring Latvian culinary classics, presented in a new and sophisticated way. Consider, for example, herring fillet marinated in "Riga Black Balsam" and looking every bit like eel. A culinary trick and a pleasure for taste buds, all at the same time! Or else - grey peas served in an espresso cup, served either with onions or roasted bacon upon your choice. It's worth to remember that everything new is well-forgotten old! Some culinary classics have definitely proven their value reliability over time and are an infinite source of inspiration - the difference is only in the manner of presentation.
