A funny and slightly kitschy restaurant featuring a decor centred on the 1966 Prisoner of the Caucasus film by the Russian director Leonid Gaidai - a comedy that was incredibly popular during the Soviet era. The walls are decorated with stills from the movie and the main hall hosts a real „Shurikland", including plastic life-size figures of the film's protagonist Shurik and other characters, etc. There is no shortage of vintage objects in other rooms as well - including a Latvian-made VEF radio set circa 1970. In the summer the restaurant's best feature is definitely the vast garden where everything is quite simple and kitsch-free; the lamb shashlyk boasts, among other qualities, a much better price than similar dishes at other Chişinău restaurants: MDL 62.

I always enjoy going here. This is not a lunch place, but a great location for a long dinner with beer, wine, or even better, vodka. Food is good. But, be careful that you are not talked into buying half the menu.
