An oasis of happiness for the style gourmet - an extravagant complex of little shops and restaurants set up in an old dockside on the bank of the river Tejo, opposite Alfama, the most charming of Lisbon neighbourhoods. If there is such a thing as "trendy" then this is it. Santa Apolonia is the product of the style guru Manuel Reis' creative genius. Reis started his career in the 1980s when he opened the Frágil nightclub; his role in creating the "it" status of Lisbon can't be disputed. Lux, the most popular nightclub in Lisbon, located practically next door to Santa Apolonia, is also owned by Manuel Reis. Each of the separate style oasis is worth paying a visit. Sneakers Delight is God's gift to fans of sporty footwear. Part of the store is a hairdresser's, the other - a shop that sells trainers. You will find the ultimate rarities - limited edition models from Adidas,Puma, Converse, Paul Smith, DKNY and Adidas Y3. A few steps further DeliDelux is all sorts of gastronomic fantasies come true (various delicacies and other stuff from all over the world, meant to indulge your taste buds - and a cafeteria as well). Then there is Nord, a Scandinavian design store, Flur, popular among DJs who can't find what they need anywhere else... The Lojad Atalaia gallery where you will find gems of furniture design from the present day as well as the 1960s-1970s - from the private collection of Manuel Reis. Oh yes, and don't forget the Bica do Sapato restaurant (see Where to Eat/Enjoy).
