A visit to the Belgrade apartment of Ivo Andric (1892-1975), the most famous Yugoslavian writer of the 20th century and winner of the Nobel Prize in literature, is recommended for those who wish to find out more about his life and creative work. A museum dedicated to the writer has been set up here since 1976. One can see Andric's workroom and salon, as well as his library, which contains 4500 books and bibliographic rarities. There is also a rich photo collection and a number of the writer's personal items.
