One of the hot-spots of the new Belgrade is the Iguana bar/restaurant. It's right by the Sava River, in the old harbour warehouse area that has now become an epicentre for hedonistic-minded patrons: complete with design stores and showrooms, fitness clubs with views of the river, bars and restaurants. The area really comes to life at night, when the local hipsters emerge. On warm evenings, tables are set up outside and the terrace of the Iguana is the place to enjoy the hub of South-eastern European nightlife, as Belgrade is now regarded.
Iguana is spacious, with a modern, industrial-style interior, an attractive wait-staff, and a fusion-style menu. Put your trust in the waiter and order the spiced tuna salad, which is reason enough for going in - fantastically fresh tuna with ginger, noodles, cucumbers, zucchini and chillies! The cocktails and general atmosphere are great, too. If you're going to be in Belgrade for at least three days, you'll soon come to the realization that Iguana can become addictive, especially at night.
