Kalemegdanska Terasa is located in one of the most beautiful and historically important parts of the city - the Belgrade Fortress. If heading here from the city centre on foot, enjoy a wonderful walk through Kalemegdan Park and along the fortress's old walls. Built on a cliff overlooking the confluence of the Sava River into the Danube, the fortress has endured sieges, battles and conquests for about two millennia, being continually damaged and rebuilt. Located in a wing of the fortress, Kalemegdanska Terasa uses the stability and coarseness of stone in its interior design, as befits the restaurant's historical setting. This provides the establishment with an air of sombre grandeur that balances on the edge of kitchiness, but that nonetheless remains unique. The restaurant's main drawing points are its view of the rivers down below, as well as the food - a classic Serbian menu accompanied by good local wines.
