Fundació Joan Miró, Barcelona

Author: Anothertravelguide.com

The building alone is worth a visit - it was designed by the Barcelona-born architect Josep Lluís Sert, an old friend of Miró's and also the designer of the artist's Mallorcan studio. The museum is located in the Montjuïc Park (Miró who died in 1983 is buried not far from there, at the Montjuïc Cemetery), at the foot of a hundred-year old olive tree. Imagine that against the backdrop of a panoramic view of Barcelona - and combined with Miró's art. The museum restaurant offers a great view of Barcelona and serves food on white plates with motifs of Miró's art.

We are passionate about travelling. It’s a great way to challenge and provoke yourself, and an even better way to see, feel, discover, enjoy and taste. Travelling provides a unique frame for your emotions and the sensations, flavours and pleasures you encounter. It’s impossible to keep them to yourself, and probably the best investment you will ever make. That is why we have created anothertravelguide.com. We share the value of our travel experiences and discoveries with our friends, so, if you share our passion, please join us!
