Gaig is an establishment with a history - it was founded in 1869 as a family tavern but Charles Gaig, the current soul and head chef of the restaurant, is considered one of the fathers of the Catalan nouvelle cuisine. In 2004 Gaig moved to Hotel Cram, the latest name in the world of designer hotels in Barcelona at the time; it is still definitely on of the best restaurants in the city, famous for its unsurpassable wine list of some 10 000 labels. The tasting menu (approximately EUR 75) is the best choice, the way it normally is at restaurants of this type. $$$
