Sol LeWitt (1928-2007), the pioneer of Minimalism and conceptual art, is often described as the apologist of these movements. LeWitt's show of wall drawings on view in Stockholm through early summer is perhaps the most impressive representation of his art in the Scandinavian countries. 10 000 straight lines, 22 metres of scribbles and broken lines in indigo cover the walls of the Magasin3 exhibition hall from ceiling to floor. 14 artists and art students spent six weeks working full-time to transform the room; each drawing was created, based on written or verbal guidelines, never digressing from the author's instructions. Sol LeWitt is like a composer whose score is the source of information for the orchestra (in this case, the 14 artists and students mentioned above). The whole creative process has resulted in seven wall paintings, conceptually conceived by Sol LeWitt between 1971 and 1993.
