During ten years of successful operation, The House Cafe restaurant chain has grown considerably and boasts a total of 12 locations, 10 of which are sited in Istanbul. Each restaurant has its own distinct individuality, shaped by the award-winning Autoban Design Office. The designers have cleverly fused modern and traditional elements in these projects, at the same time emphasizing the most distinctive features of each particular location - be it a waterfront, a historic building or perhaps a nearby cultural heritage site. For example, The House Cafe Ortaköy (Salhane Sokak Nr.1) is set on two vast terraces along the Bosphorus. The closeness of the sea has inspired its menu too, offering a wide range of fresh seafood while gorgeous sunsets seem to spark cheerful beach parties on Saturday nights when Ortaköy transforms into a nightclub with a skillful deejay mixing music. The House Cafe Teşvikiye (Atiye Sokak Nr.10-1) occupies the ground floor of a historic apartment house of Istanbul Nişantaşı area, which is famous for its art nouveau buildings. Its quiet inner courtyard offers a pleasant retreat from the busy city life outside - there you can relax and sip a cup of coffee in the soft shade of mulberry trees. But The House Cafe Hillside-Etiler (Tepecik Yolu Alkent Sitesi Etiler), housed in a sports center, faces tennis courts. As you would have thought, its menu is focused on healthy foods - full grain bread, goat cheese and fresh vegetables are part of its light and delicious meals.
